If you have Winamp installed then you should be able to listen without any problems.

Looks like the podcast hasn’t been updated since 3/18/10. Have they been discontinued?

Hi Joel, yes, I have the same problem, there were no updates since “HOTT Podcast for 03/17/10 – Civil Disobedience Pt1 – Doyel Shamley”. I’d like to get all shows since then via eyeTunes.

    Cheers!

Yes, Bill was murdered in 2001. However he had recorded about 2000 radio programs by that point which we replay on the World Wide Freedom Radio Network. We also have new broadcasts on a regular basis too! The stream is 100% free, although you will have to donate a nominal fee to receive archive copies of the broadcasts through the HOTT Shop.

    Hello,
Why is this site NOT available to Windows Media Player???? I for one have tried Winamp and all it did was take over my default player, and generally wreck havic inside my system… Pleas add Windows Media Player to your line up and get rid of that .ppl extention… I suppose you all run Linux or Macs, if so you are in the minority and are cutting out a lot of potential listeners to the radio broadcasts…
I will wait for a period of time to see if you decide not to discriminate against windows users, before I delete your site from my computer..

Most of our listeners are Windows users. It seems the general consensus among Windows users is that they prefer Winamp, but lots of users have had great success with iTunes as well. Shoutcast (the largest radio community on the net) broadcasts, by default, in streaming MP3 format. Because the streaming MP3 format is open to all platforms, we’ll not likely to change anytime soon! Sorry! The listen.pls format is the most common playlist format which is why we have chosen it.
You might ask Microsoft why their media player doesn’t support the MP3 format out of the box! (It used to but they removed this ability in newer versions – weird!) There are plugins available that allow Windows to play streaming MP3s. Try installing these codecs for Windows : http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K%5Flite%5Fcodec%5Fpack.htm
More information on why MP3 streaming is far better for both the listener and the broadcaster can be accessed here : http://www.silentway.com/guide-mp3-stream-players.
    Thanks for your inquiry.
    Good luck!

I think it is best if Kate forgets about HOTT. No one wants someone with that kind of attitude around.

I think that Kate obviously has some kind if mental problem is she thinks HOTT has gone on a concerted and covert effort to “discriminate against windows users”. I know for a fact, the bulk of the listeners that actively converse with myself are using PC based systems and they don’t have to throw fits and tantrums to listen, they just do and quite easily mind you. I also find it quite interesting how she would start labeling people as a “minority” and place some contrived blame on them – it would appear she adheres to the same principles as those megalomaniacs that got us into the current mess, the very reason we have to broadcast in the first place.

I use VLC media player to listen to the streams and podcasts. It’s a free program and runs pretty much every kind of video and audio except RealAudio and video.
    Hope that helps for some
