Then Congress said, “We have had this command in operation for one year and we are $918,000 over budget, we must cut back.”
So they laid-off the night watchman.

Isn’t D.C. a sanctuary city for rats? All the exterminators in D.C. should quit. Let the rats infest and devour the city. Or maybe they should just relocate them to the capitol building and the White House in protest.

I’m reading the Greatest Hoax and do remember Bill’s piece on that, I may have it somewhere in my recordings (although, I just lost my hard drive); however, many years later, I have different take on it than I did as a young man.
I am not a Christian and think that Christian’s who say they know their Bible really don’t know it all that well.
Start with 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV):
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
Then ask yourself, when is it okay to instruct anybody, let alone children, using gang rape & dismemberment as analogies? My answer would be: It’s never okay to use gang rape as an analogy, ever.
That brings us to Judges 19:30(KJV):
“…consider of it, take advice, and speak [your minds].”
What do they want us to consider? Read all of Judges 19(in a somewhat acceptable form, imho):

That sickens me. The poor woman. And not one hint of compassion from anybody in that recounting.
How does this relate to the Greatest Hoax? I judge the entire Christian & Jewish faith by the morality I hold dear, and if any religion, person or deity allows any of his special priesthood (i.e., a Levite) to give up any person, let alone somebody with whom he was intimate, to be abused like that is not worthy of consideration. This is not a unique, one-time event in the Bible (i.e., remember Sodom & Gomorrah & Lot’s daughters being offered up?).
In my mind, it truly is The Greatest Hoax that Christianity continues.
The Utah land bill proposal is interesting. It will be exciting to watch how that one plays out.
The real question is; Who is willing to help and who is going to sit back and do nothing?
