Guevara was resolutely against rock and roll and its long-haired adherents. Long after his demise his grandson was rousted by the Cuban police for being a rocker.

The Utah Supreme Court also held the same in Lindsay Land & Livestock Co. v. Churnos, 285 P. 646 (1930) specifically citing Act of July 26, 1866. In United States v. Andrews, 179 U.S. 96 (1900) the Supreme Court of United States held that a “cattle trail” is an easement and a “highway” for purpose of crossing a federally established reservation, and the use thereof was not a trespass.

In that instance, the United States brought in forces from the United States. In the end, the U.S. government obtained permanent bases only after the threats to the oil from the Soviet Union and Saddam Hussein had collapsed or greatly diminished. Besides, bases in Iraq set up to project U.S. power in the Gulf region are of greatly reduced value if they are constantly under assault from unfriendly Sunni and Shi’ite militias fighting in a civil war.
